Benahavis the jewel of the Costa del Sol, it is a beautiful whitewashed inland village just 7km from the coast. History
The town center is home to a number of historic sites, including the 18th-century Virgen del Rosario Church and a 16th-century palace. Overlooking the town, there is the castle of Montemayor, built in the 10th century. For many years this castle was an important strategic fortress that played an important role in battles between the Arab kings of Al Andalus. - Castillo de Montemayor : History and nature lovers may be interested to visit one of the emblematic monuments of Benahavis, the ruins of the Castle of Monte Mayor.
